On March 8th, International Women’s Day, the Zonta Club of Gaylord Area will be hosting it’s second annual WAR Party.  Women At Risk, Int’l (WAR) is a Grand Rapids based non-profit organization that unites and educates women and children in areas of human trafficking and sexual slavery. WAR partners with safe houses to rescue, redeem, and provide alternative means of income for these women.

The Zonta Club of Gaylord Area invites the public to shop with a purpose for beautiful jewelry, scarves, handbags, and much more.  Light refreshments will be served while shoppers have the opportunity to view scenes of the safe houses and shop knowing they are literally helping to lift women from horror to dignity.  All jewelry is made by rescued or at-risk women, benefiting them directly.  90% of all proceeds go directly to women and children who have been trafficked into slavery.  This party is integral to rescuing women, lifting them to a life of dignity.
  
In regards to last years WAR Party, Club President Cherie Nutter, said “We had great attendance and positive feedback.  Everyone wanted to know when we were doing it again.”  Kimberly Oliver, the event chairperson and club Vice President commented that “the collection contains many beautiful and unique pieces of jewelry and scarves very reasonable priced.”

The March 8th WAR Jewelry Party is open to the public and will take place 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Guardian Gals, Inc.
